- 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster
-
- Last offer for sale before she goes back into the barn!
-
- This mostly original 1957 Speedster is a California native
with the same owner for the last 42 years. It is a real "Hollywood"
star, appearing in many Charlie's Angels and Rich Man, Poor Man
episodes, as well as several other cameo appearances. Anybody
would look good cruzin' in this black beauty.
-
- The exterior paint is about 4 years old, it's really very
nice with only minor flaws, and the panel fit and gaps are generally
very good except for a couple of spots. All the chrome and aluminum
trim on this car is in excellent condition including the rare,
one-piece rear overrider bar.
-
- The interior is nicely done but carpets are old. All vinyl
and rubber mats are in good condition and the windshield appears
fresh. A new Derrington wood-rimmed steering wheel is fitted
along with 3" competition lap belts. All the instruments
look good and it even has it's original 1956 Meister Schaften
badge on the dash. The top assembly, cover and side curtains
are in very good condition, they fit and latch well, but the
rear window is a bit yellowed.
-
- The original engine was rebuilt 10 years ago, has about 6,000
miles on it now and appears complete. It was updated with 912
heads, Weber carburetors and manifolds, aluminum replacement
distributor, late rocker arm assemblies and a sport muffler.
It starts easy, runs good, shifts well, steering is a bit loose.
All electrical works good, but no turn signal cancel ring or
wiper arms/blades.
-
- The Certificate of Authenticity is included in the sale as
well as a spare tire, jack, the original owners manual, a front
bra, a rear service cover, a full tonneau cover and the very
cool reproduction front trunk luggage.
-
- Save this car from another decade of storage!
Offered at $125,000 USD Your inspection is invited.
